Today I would like to pause a while from my virtual tour around Bedfordshire to celebrate the publication of the works of another Eventispress writer Brian Kerr.

So many people race through Bedfordshire on the M1 or A1, not even pausing to glance left or right. Most never give the county a chance to show how lovely it is in parts, and how rich and diverse. Admittedly it isn’t Northumberland or Dorset. It cannot boast of great hills or the sea – which is as far away as you can be anywhere in Britain, apart from maybe Stoke Manderville in Buckinghamshire. The Greensand Ridge, Dunstable Downs, Ivinghoe Beacon, Barton Springs, Sharpenhoe Clappers ~ all familiar to those who live here and all have their charm.

This book would appeal to anyone who loves to walk or who are interested in conservation issues, not only those who live in Bedfordshire but also those who value what makes our ‘green and pleasant land.’
