I couldn’t resist writing this review as my first of the year. We visited New York for the first time during a very snowy February a few years ago and so when I picked this up in Waterstones, what was there to dislike to transport me back there …
I unashamedly loved this novel, the setting, the characters and the setting, a place I have visited a couple of times. The story flowed, the echoes of Iris’s Mum, the believable (almost) coincidences and the tension of forbidden love.
It’s great escapism to huddle inside reading on a winter’s night!
