‘Remember You’re a Womble!’

I’m just having a break from my ‘thank you’ posts today to announce a Womblingly good event on the island of Alderney. You see, Elizabeth Beresford made her home on Alderney up until her death last year. In fact, many children visiting the island would have said hello to her without realising it because she was the Station Master (and ticket officer) for the little train which runs the length of the island towards the lighthouse.

To celebrate her life and her creation of the Wombles, Alderney are holding the first ever Womble Exhibition throughout the summer. She loved Alderney and even named one of her characters after the island. To find out more you can read The Alderney News:
