Diana’s March Book Review ~ Ticket to Eden by Ian K Pulham

Jack Lee is a likeable character, with secret horrific memories which never quite leave his consciousness. This affects his relationships and all of his life, until years later the possible nightmare scenario for our planet returns, but no-one takes him seriously.

A love triangle runs along this thread when the two people whom he holds most dear in his life become a couple.

We have messed up the earth, haven’t we, us humans. If a quick fix solution came along would we take it, regardless of the warnings? Regardless of the consequences.

Not a genre I’m usually drawn to, but I was gripped by this novel, the unexpected twists, the drama and love element. It was a compelling read.

This is Ian K Pulham’s debut novel and a touching tribute to his mum and dad, who would have been so proud …

…. ‘See you in the Next Life…’ Ian says.

A Song of an Idea Springing from

MISSING Past and Present

Is Life Just a Roll of a Dice?

My original inspiration for my latest novel was a chance finding of a dice, when walking one day. As I thought of life in terms of rolling a dice, out poured the idea for the story. Mulling this over the lyrics for a song whispered to me but unfortunately not the tune. Here it is?

One …..One ….. One

Abandoned and homeless I started to run;

Running from life, running from life.

Two ….. Two ….. Two

Sleeping in shacks, eating left over food;

Hiding from you, hiding from you.

Three ….. Three ….. Three

My friends were the mice and the birds just like me;

Setting me free, setting me free.

Four ….. Four ….. Four

Then wandering footpaths I spied an old place;

Open the door, open the door.

Five ….. Five ….. Five

Sheltered from winter I started to thrive.

I was alive, I was alive.

Six ….. Six ….. Six

Good fortune was finally one of life’s tricks

I know I’ll survive, I know I’ll survive.

Eventispress author Ian K Pulham has released a FREE short story

It is great to share news of other Eventispress authors and here’s news of a recently arrived member of the Eventispress family!

Ian K Pulham has just released a short story, an action packed dystopian drama, which is the prequel to his soon to be published debut novel ‘Ticket to Eden’.

He’s giving away his short story ‘Radical Action’ for free, if you sign up for news about his novel:

About the story

So, how do you deal with a violent and aggressive cult of over a thousand troubled souls, camped-out in a politically sensitive neighbourhood in the Middle East? Oh yes, and whose membership appears to be multi-national and led by a native of the USA?

How indeed?

My comments

I found the story gripping and quite unnerving, in this climate of uncertainty, climate change and sea pollution; a disaster waiting to happen. His novel which follows, however, although traumatic to the earth as we know it, gives a tiny glimmer of hope. Only just!

Well worth reading!
